Buffed out and back together
#31
Got a PM from a WTB post I did, so I now have the R. corner molding coming! Whew! Now I'm sure I'll find the old one once it's all together!

Yea, it's supposed to take a week to get my guide rollers, so I predict it will start raining the day I finally get them so I can't install my door glass.

Spent today working on the car again, just tidying up, and making little repairs. I need to drive it out to my buddie's shop so I can get busy with the suspension rebuild. Wont take but a day or two, but I can't chance not finishing it in one day, and having it out overnight!

It's all original SS suspension, so it needs bushings and ball joints up front, and bushings in the back springs. I've got a complete Energy Systems kit for both, plus new Moog ball joints.
I wont be doing anything like tubular A arms, or radical changes. Just going to get it all like new with poly bushings, and then have the frontend aligned.

Found a real surprise while I was washing the inside of the windows! When I pressed hard on the inside of the rear window to get the streaks off, the whole window bottom edge lifted free from the car! I had to try it twice to make sure I wasn't seeing things, but surely it was separated!
That definitely makes for a surprise haha. That happened on my 80 i used to have,i was driving down the street and hit a bump, kinda thought i seen the rear window move when i looked in the mirror but figured it was just the mi rror bouncing from the bump so didnt think any more about it.A few days later went to clean the windows and it almost fell out of the car, half my rear trim was missing so there was nothing to stop it.It was almost an expensive window cleaning lol.

Yea, it's expensive even if the window doesn't fall out. They charged $100 to take it out, clean and prep the channel, and paint it with rust inhibitor, then reinstall it. Really not bad, but something else I didn't plan for.
They only charged me $199 to buy the windshield, and take the old one out and install the new. On the positive side they told me they'd adjust my door glass if I couldn't get it correct for free. They also told me they would polish out my rear window and door glass for free if I wanted when it was done.
The guy who runs the shop is a hot rodder, and really liked the Camaro, so he wants to help me out at no charge. I think I'll take him up on it, if I have any troubles.
I'm gonna have him buff out the windshield on my old '76 GL1000 LTD too!
