Default brake power booster

Does anyone have the diagram for a 1980 v8 automatic, on how to remove this. I believe the bolts are just on the firewall, is this correct?........1SG

Yep, you remove the bolts behind the booster, and disconnect the crossbolt at the brake pedal. Then the brake lines and it pulls right out. Those bolts behind are a booger to get at!

Ratchet wrenches are your best friend here. The flat ones not the reversable ones.

Be careful with rachet wrenches to switch back and forth, as if you back off too far it ends up caught in there as the nut backs off!

I have room. I know what your talking about though. I haven't been totally stuck YET. A couple times at work with a regular ratchet I did get screwed. Spent an hour building a tool to reach inside a machine and flip the reverse. LOL Boss was like WTF are you doing on a 35 min job.

I still have a couple of questions, Is it a stud that has a bolt attached that you take it out in the engine bay right by the firewall or are the nuts under the dash, and anyone have any idea of the size?........1SG

They're studs. The nuts (4) are in the engine bay side. 9/16" I think. Just takr the nuts off and disconnect the lines and the rod to the pedal. The studs will stay put.

yeah they are 9/14 or a 14mm. You could first unbolt the 2 nuts from master cylinder from the brake booster and slid if forward. and just let it hang out. it's what I do anytime I'm just replacing the booster. this way you don't have to waste time bleeding the master and brakes.
