Default Bowtie on front grille of a 69

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to install a new bowtie on the front of my 69 camaro. The old one was cracked, so i just ordered a new one from npd. I got it and i was looking at it and it has two studs attached to the back of the bowtie with a mounting plate. The orginal one on the car now has a bolt on the back of the stud but their are no threads on the new one. From the looks of the old one their is not any threads on it neither but somehow their is a few threads winded on at the end of the stud. Does anyone haver any suggestions on how to install this bowtie. thanks

Those are made for self tapping screws like the original ones were.
