RE: Barrett Jackson auction!
heres the story on it!
Documented as the only 1969 X77, Code Z-28 Motion Performance race car ever built. Certified by Joel Rosen of Motion Performance (Baldwin, L.I. New York) to be the car they campaigned through the 1974 N.H.R.A. season. Driven by Dennis Ferrara, who was voted Most Popular Driver by Car Craft magazine. The car was also selected by Car Craft to it's All Star Drag Racing Team. This is the Camaro that set, and held, 2 N.H.R.A. records in the A/MP and B/MP classes. In 1980, Superstock/Drag Illustrated magazine called it the quickest and fastest MP of it's type in the country. The chassis was built by Speed Research Development (SRD) of Malvern, PA and remains in it's original race condition. The 454" motor was created under the engine program of Richie Zul, one of the country's leading engine builders of the 70's. Zul's company still produces the finest motors to this day. the car has the original ZL1 aluminum heads that were flowed and ported by Air Flow Research (AFR) before Zul massaged them for this application. After being out of sight for years, the car has recently been restored to the condition it was raced in 1974. The car comes complete with all documentation intact, and it has never been offered for sale in it's current restored condition.
