Default Axle Advice

I'm changing out the axle seals in my rear end. Should I repack the bearings with grease while I'm in there? Or does the 90 weight take care of all of that? Thanks, ross

Why not. I have to say I don't have much experiance with rears though. But if its apart I clean everything and oil/grease, even my fishing reels.

That's pretty much what I thought. I'm glad I didn't get a huge NO BAD IDEA, I just finished putting it back together, and I went ahead and greased everything.

No reason to grease any bearings inside the rear axle. Hopefully the grease wont cause an issue. The bearings are lubed by the differential gear oil, not greased.

Seems like the gear oil would break down the grease.
