to be more specific--one of those cast aluminum ones to fit a 10bolt 77 camaro--i can find the cheap chrome ones everywere,but those just rust up in no time---thanks

hey--i did look at summit before,but i absolutely cant remember if the 77 with 10 bolt has the 7.5 or 8.5 gear---thanks

 

Not sure either, but if you pull the cover you can measure. Or you can look and see if the cast housing has the square ears on the bottom edge by the cover. If it has the two square ears that show from behind, then it's an 8.5"
If you look at this old picture you can see the little ears at the bottom edge of each side.



My rearend is from a 79 Trans Am, but I think the 77 Camaro was also a 8.5".
