Hey does anyone else around here have a 1980 RS camaro? If so I have a few questions for ya. Also if you are from San Diego with any 2nd gen Camaro, I also would like to talk to you. Well thanks for your time.

sweet do you have any tips on how to restore my camaro? or clubs or carshows? I want to redo the original paint know any places that could?

 

It depends on how much you want t to spend. If the body is in good shape then I would take it to Southland Auto Body. I know a few people that have gone there and swear by them, for price and quality of work If you don't like them just look around, there are hundreds of places.

Starting up in the summer you have El Cajon on Wednesdays and La mesa on Thursdays. There are a few more but those are the biggest showssouth of the 8.

 

yea i used to go to those when i had my 69 chevelle

 

So what did you do with the chevelle?

 

sold... only got 6 mpg... :P I paid 5k for it and sold it for 10k 3 years later doing no mods to it.

 

Do you plan on keeping the maro for a while?

 

Yea i am hoping to keep her, i will need tons of help.. i need a new carpet kit and the floors rusted a lil thro and the doors and there rust all over i was thinking of bonding for a few months till i get the panels... what do you think? right now we just drove it down from escondido no problems... have any advice on what to do? rims are the 1s i want and the stock tape player works just the paint is horrible rust.... and the interior is pretty much gone...

 

Sounds like you have a good project there. I would start with the floor pans first. Unless you want to flinstone it. Do you have any pics of the car?
