Default Amplifier/Heat Sink

I have a 1969 camaro it has some sort of amp or heat sink in it that definitly looks factory. It looks like a 2x6 in. heat sink monted to the steering column support bracket under the dash and has wiring going into and out but is not hooked up to anything elese. I don't know if it had any special opitions or not because everything in the dash is missing but the heater controls and the glove box door. Anybody have a clue what it is and if so does it have anything to do with any special opitions?

Default RE: Amplifier/Heat Sink

I found out that my 69 camaro is one of 6,200 originally equiped with and 8-track player that required a heat sink.
