About to buy '80 Z28
Hey all, I'm new around here so i don't know that much. I come from a past of working on small displacement turbocharged vehicles and now im considering a 1980 Z28 that ive found. Now ive been around plenty of fast muscle cars and driven quite a few of them ('65 cobra replica, '62 409 impala) so this isnt completly out of my knowledge. I was wondering what are some things I should look for on the car when I go look at it on friday. The owner says the motor was fully rebuilt around 10 years ago, bored .030 over, some type of cam he cant remember, 650 holley, flat top pistons, and headers. The motor itself has less that 10K miles on it but the car has around 90K. I was wondering if yall could help me out and tell me what to look for. thanks in advance

I have a 80 Z28 and im going turbo on that mine has a big block and is 4 speed can't wait till its done. Look at frame rails, floors, where the sub frame mounts to the body, and also just check everything quarters, rockers, firewall etc mainly look for the rot and rust. I look at it as the engine and tranny are always fixable if anything were to be wrong with them. The body is the thing that gets costly and can declare if the car is junk or not. engine and tranny can be replaces i would still make sure it shifts fine and doesn't knock or anything but check the body good
