Couple of questions...
I was having issues with the original carburetor so I ordered a rebuilt one...the replacement would run good for alittle while...and i got pissed and did the best possible fix available...I now have a 383 stroker going in with new transmission...my question is now do I need the computer for anything related to running the 383? Obviously I need the starter and alternator wires...will the choke, oil pressure and temp sensor work?
any information would be appreciated...thanks
Also is the original engine and tranny worth anything? It ran great until the carb problems no issues I was just looking for an excuse to pull it...

Your CCC system is nothing like modern day computers. It had a few sensors and it controlled the metering valves in the carb and the timing advance and the lock up converter. If your new trans has a lockup converter you will need a controller for that, but I assume nothing else would needs any input. You can remove all the computer components. There is a wire that runs up to the speedo but you can just cut that. Speedo will work fine.
