HELP!!! Trying to figure out what the 1980 RS fuel door emblem is supposed to look like. Just bought an all original 65,000 mile RS and it has the Camaro name, Bowtie with stripes. Ecklers among other vendors says that one is for a Berlinetta not RS. They don't sell one for the RS. Then checked the other original RS car I bought 20 years ago that she original bought in 1983 (10th year anniversary present found the same car) it has the Stripes and Bowtie that is listed for a 78-79 Camaro. Am I missing something here.

 

The Z28 had a separate emblem, but the RS used the bowtie with vertical stripes.

 

Thats the one Ecklers and Camaro Central say is for the Berlinetta. Does maybe the chrome on the Berlinetta have somehing to do with why there computer says it wont work. Maybe it has cutouts for the chrome trim on the tailights? They cant tell me what the difference is just that there computer says it wont fit. That is whats on my 65k car we just bought now. I guess i will just order it and see.

 

I'm confused? You have an RS, and you have this emblem now. So I'd question if Ecklers knows what they're talking about, before I'd question if what I had already was wrong.

 

Well when you say it like that LOL Yes the one on the car is more likely to be correct. The way they make it sound its like it will only fit Berlinetta taillights. I will just have to order it and see.
