A little more explanation might help getting an answer? Are we talking drag race, and what are the specs on both engines?

Your gonna need a heathy check book. If he even considers a turbo swap, you're gonna need a bigger boat.

Without engine specs, I'm gonna go with the supra ftw.

Engine specs would help for both cars as well as any other mods!

Thats a bold statement considering you know nothing about either car! It could be an auto non turbo supra.

I actually know alot about both cars. Not only have built my fair share of chevy's Ive owned 3 supras.. 2 turbos, one auto, one stick, and the other was a non turbo stick.. but that was a nice try. u should look up mk4's lol. Bold would be for those who DONT know. But I have a "experienced" guess.. stock to stock.. the supra na auto is faster both top speed and around a circuit.. Cant beat the technology..

So you know both of the cars that the OP is personally talking about! I dont care if you have owned 100 supra's if you dont know anything about the specific car's he is talking about then its a bold statement. If you do know what the specific cars he is talking about have done to them then more power to ya!

I totally agree!! How can anyone make a blanket statement about which is faster, when we have no particulars on either? Is there something you're not telling us? Like maybe you already know the two parties involved, because if you don't you're way off track with a WAG of who would win.
That's exactly why I asked for particulars on the two cars involved. The '79 might be something you wouldn't want to mess with, or then again, maybe the Supra is way more than stock too. No way to really know without more data.
