They are OK cars, build quality is not that great, they rusted alot and suck in snow (but all F-bodies suck in snow). If it were me I would look at a 3rd Gen. They can be picked up cheap enough and if you get a TPI motor they have a ton of torque. Just keep your eyes peeled for a decent one.

faily easy, but the price is usualy a little bit higher than a 3rd gen. 79-81 are the nicest years especially, when they are well maintained

They are easy to get, but why on earth do you want to deal with a rusty car?

I see, well good luck with it. Those cars are pretty easy to find, just try to find the best one you can afford.

i got an 81 and I like it a lot. the only rust I hade was in the floors which was easy enough to fix. its my first car and I love it. I bought it for 800 and it was good except for the floors and brakes. v6 though. I like the 2nd gens better than the thirds. keep in mind that I live in rochester NY and there is tons of snow and crapy conditions for rust to form. My car held out ok though. Good luck and enjoy.
