Hey guys have had a 79 Berlinetta with a 305 in it sitting in the garage for about 20 years, been thinking of doing a full restore, just wondering what are some websites you guys get your parts from and if it was your camaro what engine would you put in it

I'm seriously contemplating an LS engine in mine. I've got a bit of work to do yet to finish it though, and the swap can really happen anytime. I've really gotten most of what I need from other members both here and from NastyZ28.

I found a 79 that had been in a barn since 92 with no engine.
I am working on a 396 Hi Per Pass block now.
I have used Ebay for some parts, but the car was mostly in tack.
I am not dong a factory restore, but a fun weekend car.

Ebay and craigslist are both good options for some parts, since there are a few parts for these cars that are not reproduced. The sites i have dealt with are national parts depot, camaro central, fbody wharehouse, and ecklers.I have had good luck with all the above mentioned.

Any of the new parts that I have gotten I've gotten from Pete at FBodyWarehouse. He is a good guy, and his website has tons of how to videos on installing or repairing stuff on our cars.

Camaro Central, F body Warehouse for sure, Nasty Z28s swap meet (big time), Ebay, here.

I have a decent upper grill with emblem. Also a ton z28 stuff like sway bars and steering box. Some pretty decent interior stuff too.

Yep, F Bodt warehouse or National Parts Depot.
As for engines I'd go with a smallblock Vortec 350 if it was mine. Easy to install and easy to make decent power. If you're looking to make big power then I'd go with a built crate engine.
