im curious.... without a build sheet, and without taking it apart... is there a way to know what trans my 79 z28 has? as far as i know, the PO said its a numbers matching car, so its the original trans...... i mainly need to know the clutch spline.... but i would like to know what its got in it...

it should be 10 splines

 

and is should have a 350 v8 with a 4bbl carb, more than likely it has a/c

 

All 79 Z28's got the Borg Warner ST-10 four speed. It has a 26 spline input shaft with three grooves, 2.66 1st gear ratio and used a 168 tooth flywheel mated to an 11" clutch.
