Default 75 Dieing under a load

Hello everyone been awhile since I posted but was so much help last time. So I'm giving it another shot. I got a 75 Camaro replace the intake and carb, distributor. All ready for the road or atleast around the block trips I thought. Then when I put it in any gear car sputters and eventually dies. If you feather the gas pedal you can keep it running. Any ideas? Thought it was a fuel issue but with the new carb issue thought that would take care of it. It did the same thing with the old intake / carb. Now its a holley 4 bbl & doing the same thing.

Give a few more details. What motor, what distributor, vacuum advance, previous carb etc. Sounds like you may have a vacuum issue.

Its a 75 Camaro 350 engine, MSD street fire distributor 8 degrees BTDC. Previous carb was 2 bbl rochester stock. New one is 4 bbl holley with weiland intake. I'm thinking it might be a tuning problem after reading other post, but not exactly sure how to do it.

yes the cam and heads are stock. I plan on replacing them in the future but want to be able to drive around with lower end stock and see if its reliable. I think I figured out the dieing though. Tweeked on the adjustment screws on the carb and got it up to 20 psi on the gauge. Hopefully not to much longer and I'll have her on the road.

Be sure the timing is set correctly after an intake change. Also check the idle speed on a tach. Need to have it high enough to not drop below around 650 rpm's when it goes into gear. Around 750-800 in neutral should work well.

Ok I'll check it out. Thanks. I don't have a tach right now but got the vacum set then adjusted it till it sounded about right probaly a little off but doesn't die anymore when put in gear.
