73' Camaro
Hi everyone, my dad finally decided to get his camaro out and running.
It has a 327 auto stock stock stock. Tranny was just rebuilt(to stock) and the other day we took it out to see how it was running, and the carb seemed to choke up when you got on it. <-- kind of hard to explain in text, but when he got on it, it seemed like the 2nd set of barrels on the carb wern't feeding correctly.(excuse me for lack of terms). Regardless, if he ends up getting a new carb what would you recommend? He doesn't seem to be brand biased either.
Thanks for any help.

If you decide to go new instead of rebuilding I'd reccommend a 4175 650 Holley with vacuum secondaries. For most street applications a vacuum secondary carb will function much better than anything else, and a 650 should be fine with a 327 Chev.
The 4175 is a spreadbore Holley, which will be correct for a stock intake, if your dad's Camaro still has the stock intake.

thanks guys I'll make him aware of this. He will probably opt for the rebuild, but if he does order a new one then I'll recommend a 650. Technically its been sitting for a year I guess you could say. The tranny had a leak, so it didn't move from May to now, and also might we take more time and make sure the fuel isn't gummed up as well. so yea thanks for the advice guys.

Fuel shouldn't be an issue in just 9 months. And before he rebuilds the carb, or even tears into it I'd get some fuel system additive and pour it in the tank along with filling it with gas. Drive it around and see if the additive cleans it up.
After that give it a decent tune up and see if it even needs a kit. Might be just fine and nothing else needed.
