Default 71 Suspension- Year One lowering Kit??? Need help

I just removed a set of coil over shocks and replaced with an OE performance shock on my 71 camaro. The coil overs with were on it when I purchased the car. The car now sags to the drivers side due to a weak drivers leaf spring (bent).

I am going to replace the leaf springs and possible add traction bars. I would like to lower the car all around as well, 2" front, 1 1/2" back, I see year one advertises a lower spring kit with front srpings and rear leafs.

My car is a 400sb. 510hp/518lb ft/tq 91 octane on the crank. Turbo 350, B and M hole shot 3600rpm stall, drive shaft specialties drive shaft, Moser 12 Bolt, 4:10 gears, frame rail connectors. This is a street car that will have the occasional fun run at the track, but mostly street.

I am looking to add a NOS cheater 150-250 shot too.

Do you have some suggestions for significant traction improvement over stock??? What can I do to get serious traction besides tires (I know your going to say tires are everything). Is there really much I can do besides traction bars???

You should look at CalTracs.

Calvert Racing - The Leader in Leaf Spring Innovation

This is what I am going to do when the time comes.

Actually the traction bars. As for the lowering springs, I think Hotchkiss, or DSE or any number of others make them. Not sure about the finer points of their differences though.

What kind of coil overs are you pulling off?

I was going to say CalTracks.
You don't have to get the mono leaf at the same time.
They make a bolt on kit for your car, then at a later time you get the mono leaf and spacers.

You can preload the system and get enough traction to pull the wheels off the ground.

I will have one in a few weeks.

I removed helper coilovers, old junk ones. Maybe some of you missed the original post but I have a bent/weak rear leaf so I need to replace both. Should I be getting the monoleaf system and traction bars? Or are you guys talking about the 4 link replacement. I am looking for serious traction but I do not want to sacrafice back seat riders either.

thanks!

You don't HAVE TO run the monoleaf to use Cal Tracs. They can be run with mono leaf, or multi leaf spring sets. Cal Tracs are not a 4 link, they're adjustable traction bars. If adjusted for max traction they will ride extremely hard, but you can back them off for everyday use.

i did some research and found out more information, thanks for the input! Can I put stock leafs in or should I just go with the monoleaf if I need to replace anyway? the monoleaf look to be around $400 plus a new install kit. I feel like if I'm going to replace I should just put in caltrack bars and monleaf. The car should be about 660hp/675lbft with nitrous so I am going to have some serious traction issues with a stock setup!
