So what are you asking? To identify your brakes? Post a pic. Alot of the stock coversions have the e brake inside the hat.

Easiest fix for an unknown make of caliper is to install a line lock solenoid that cuts off flow at the rear brakes. It can be a switch that releases power to a reverse acting solenoid so when you step on the brakes and kill the switch it closes the solenoid and holds the brakes.

^ That makes for a fine parking brake, but not an emergency brake for lost fluid or pressure.

I actually considering a line lock on the 80. One thing I hated about my old Nova was I couldn't let it idle at a convenience store. most around here have a slight incline and the manual tranny left in neutral sucked.

So is the solenoid n/o or n/c? If its n/o and you energize it to lock the pressure won't it drain the battery? If its n/c does it need 12v to constantly be open? Then the switch cuts the circuit.

The solenoids come either way, but as you said you'll need one that closes under loss of voltage so it holds with the engine turned off and doesn't run the battery down.
