71 camaro question, hoping for answers
i have a 71 camaro, and was wanting to update the suspeension and all that.. so my question is instead of buying the disc brakes and suspension, could i just find a late 90's camaro and put my camaro body on the 90s camaro frame and suspension?
Thanks for the help!!

That's a lot of fab work, and updating your suspension would be much easier, and cheaper.
Discs are a nice upgrade, but most people find the stock disc drum setup to be more than adequate. I've never had any issues with my '71 stopping in the last 38 yrs.
I did upgrade my rear backing plates, drums and all to early Impala 11" drum/brake setup. Didn't notice much if any difference though.

yeah better off just buying new springs, shocks, bushings, sway bars, adding frame connectors and solid body bushings and new control arms like others have said. frame connectors and solid body bushings would be best to do first though

Agreed. Same parts though. Just different seller. Dave and Keith both are good people to talk to. They have never been short with me no matter what they have going on. I respect a guy who will answer his cell phone on the way to the shop and give advise while on his way to work.
That was my first conversation with Dave the owner of PTFB. We talked for almost an hour about everything from wheels to transmissions. I just gave him a clear plan of what I wanted and he recommended what I currently have. I even emailed him to be a sponsor at the autocross I wanted to get going while power tour was in town and he was ready to help there too. The guy even offered to meet me half way ( I'm 4 hrs away) to save me shipping. Ask Hotchkis to do that.

It would be much easier to bolt on a Hotchkis TVS kit in a few hours and be on the road. Mary Pozzi has proven how well our kit works on her 73 Camaro.
Installation is simple and straightforward with hand tools, and a complete system for your car would cost a fraction of a full subframe conversion like you're talking about by the time you factor in labor, custom parts, etc.
