Default 70 Z28 or 72 Base Model

Hi to Everyone,

I have the option of buying a second gen Camaro and would like your opinion on which option would be better. I live in Panama and cars here can be bought fairly cheap but once restored, their value is not that great as there is very little market for restored muscle cars. So they are basically restore them and keep them or sell them at cost or at a slight lost.

Option 1
1970 Z28
I still need to double check that it is in fact a Z28 with the body trim tag but if it was, the car would need a complete restoration as it is right now disasembled, missing engine, transmision and rear end. The front nose is missing so i tought that I could turn it into an RS with the front end kit that its been sold. Asking price is $4,500.

Option 2
1972 Camaro Base Model
The car is assembled but missing engine and transmission. Interior needs to be redone as well as most likely all body panels (they will all need some kind of work). Asking Price $1,500.

What to do??? get the 70 Z28 at a higher price with a lot more work needed or get the 72 at a lower price with lets say less work to be needed.

If both car are restored (semi restomod) will the Z28 had a lot higher selling price or both cars will be comparable price wise in the US?

Any feedback / opinion would be appreciated as im right now debating on what to do.

THANKS

It would depend on much time and money to invest in the car ,The Z-28 would have an higher overall value .Bust the "Bow Tie" car you can turn into most any model as a "clone car" Such as an SS car .Its up to you .Good luck on what ever you do.

Sounds like most of the Z28 is already gone so without the correct motor etc. it's lost most of it's value anyway.
I'd probably go with the car that needs the least amount work and costs less.
Either way unless you can do all the work yourself and even likely then you'll probably end up with more invested than the finished car is worth.
