Nice Camaro.
Of course, no paperwork, no Bill-of-Sale, no sticker or any other evidence.

Just a guess. Could it be a tag installed by an engine builder to identify to motor?

Just a wild guess maybe a warranty replacement engine?
Have you checked the numbers on the pad in front of the pass side head?
That should ID what the motor is from.

That's a 70 Camaro.
Definitely not a Z28.

Back In the 70' and 80's I remember tags like that on remanufactured motors. Guys normally took them off once the motor was out of warranty so people did not know they had a Jasper motor if they went to a show. . Back then there was a lot of companies that remanufactured motors, and most decked the motor Id information off the motor in the reman process.

Hey LastRS Please enlighten me on how you are so sure its not a Z28. I am not arguing just looking for a some knowledge. I know the 74Z cause i owned one and have a good handle on the 1st/3rd/4th gens.

Gorn:
tach should have 6.5k red line, not 5k.
gas pedal should pivot on floor, not hang.

Two obvious signs.

I had no clue about the gas pedal, but I should have picked up on the tach. Thats the same with the 1 gens.
