Default '69 rear seatbelts install.

I'm looking to install a set of seatbelts on the rear seat of my camaro.
What is the trick to removing the reat seatback and the seat base itself? I know that you pull the seatback upwards but I want to know the proper way so I don't damage anything. Plus. the trick to base removal.

Thanks

Jake.

I sure hope that you have a restoration manual. If not, Go buy the "Camaro restoration handbook" published by hp books and written by Tom Curro and Rob sessions. I have the book and it is great. It takes you step by step through the dissasembelly and assembuly of the whole car including many other chapters. Please get it. It is only 20.00 and is well worth it.

Matt,
Where would I go to purchase this handbook? Sounds like a good hook up.
I remember my father removing the seat back in 1978-79 to do some type of repair to the hydraulic pump for the top. That was the only time they were ever touched.
Thanks for the help.

Jake.

in the front of the part you sit on there are hooks made into the body if you were sittting in the seats they would be right between your legs. you have to push the bar that is in that hook toward the rear of the car then lift up. when the bar comes out of the hook the lower seat comes right out. the seat back is bolted to the car on the bottem ot the seat back with two bolts. when those are undone the seat can be pulled straight up. it has some sort of attachment at the top i don't remember what it looked like though, but if you pull it straight up it comes out.

That is a great restoration manual by hp books. I have on to work on my 81 camaro with. It works great with all of the pics and all. You should push the bottom seats back and pull up and they should come right out. The back part will just unbolt if it is anything like my 81. good luck

Go to ebay or amazon or your local book store. Its by rod sessions another guy and it is a great book. It only cost around 20.00

I am a huge fan of manuals. I have one of every kind for the second gen camaro that I can find. They all have different imput and are more detailed on certian things. This one in particular is much better and descriptive with photos.
