Default 68 SS

I am looking to buy a 68 SS numbers matching car. I prefer the RS. So i was wondering how hard it was to convert it to a RS/SS. There is the obvious concealed headlights but was wondering if there were any other differences. And also if there was some tag that showed whether the car was an SS or RS/SS.

is that the only difference and are their different numbers in trim tag saying that it is a RS/SS or did it just decode to be just an SS.

The 68 camaro trim tags don't decode ss,rs,z28 or what engine or opitions it came with. All they decode is when it was made, the body color, and what kind of interior it had. There are other ways to tell if it was a special model but only by certain things on the body, not in codes. Such as multi leaf, 12-bolt rear(ss350's came with 10 standard), fuel line size(3/8 for big block), location of the heater box on big block camaro's, and any special gauges if there are any left or if it ever came with any. Otherwise you can iditify a rally sport by the holes where the back up lights are mounted under the rear bumper at the bottom of the rear panel. Unless their is rally equipment still visable. Unless your car maches up with any of these decripitions you are out of luck unless you have paper work but i'm guessing you don't.
