Default '67 i just bought off a relative...

hey....i'm new to the camaro scene. did i get a good deal on this? my cousin had nearly 17k in from the time he bought it to now. with his family size increasing...he just hasn't had the time or money to finish with his project.

it has a newly rebuilt 396 big block....bored .60 over (not sure the exact engine specs, but it hasn't been run since the rebuild).. rebuilt 4 speed 350 turbo tranny, a 9" Ford rear end with 4:11 gears and a decent paint job. the interior needs restored...but it isn't to horrible. oh yea...it isn't running. the engine accessories need to be bolted up...and it needs rewired....but my friends father is a mechanical genius...so he is going to do the work for me. i think all i need to do is buy a new carb.....radiator hoses....belts, a starter, and a new ignition.

How much do you think this car is worth?

Nice color choice. I've can't recall seeing any 67's done like that.

First off, does it have a 4 speed or a TH350? You mention in your original post a 4speed th350. No such monster so I am ***-uming it is a typo and you have a TH350 since your looking to a stall. With the stall choice it all depends on what your intentions are with it. What percentage of street/race do you plan to do with the car. If it is more one then the other pick the one your going to do more.

What did you pay for it?

I would say its easily worth 17K... Its really nice, can we see some engine pics and interior.

And get a nice 3000 stall since its set up for racing with the rear end gears and the .060 over 396

really nice car. Keep us updated.

ummm.....i don't know much about tranny's.....i assumed it was a 350 turbo.....4 speed?....since my original post i was told it was a 3 speed with overdrive. does that sound better? anyway....the 396 is not the original motor. it originally came with a 327. i was told by some people on a another forum that it is not an SS....though it has a rear SS gas cap....(that says 350 mind you).....so i know that isn't the original gas cap. anyway.....i'll post some pics of the engine when i get it all up and running. i think i have a couple shots of the interior on my computer....i'll post those tomorrow.

oh yea.....i paid 7k for the car. i'm pretty stoked to get it up and running.

btw - mattvogt -you don't happen to be from maryland do you???

oh...just curious. a guy named matt vogt used to help my cousin work on the camaro. lol....he is the reason it needs to be rewired. ha. but obviously you're not him......your name just threw me off for a second.

At 7K you did well from the start of the pics. Solid body, good paint is a great base to start from. Makes life a lot easier and cheaper.

From the pics you must have a automatic. If they told you it's a 3 speed with OD possibly a 4speed automatic. Get a pic of the transmission pan and you'll know right away.

Looks like some interior work but nothing a motivated buyer can't jump all over.
