Default 327 for 1975

I have a 1975 camaro that needs the engine replaced. I am limited in money, but have the oppurtunity that one of my relatives have a 327 from an corvette that they would give me. I was wondering if it would be worth putting in or should I just continue saving to buy something else.

i would deffinetly take advantage of the 327, especially out of corvettes, it won't disappoint you, they are lighter than a 350 and you can do just about as much as you can do to the 350, they are also high-rev motors, and i cars that i have had a 327 in, they can deffinetly take a beating without any problems.

the 327 has always been my favorite SB. those things rev to the moon, and they do it in quick fashion too!

327 is a good engine high compression in some. I didnt realise they were any lighter though. One thing to check for is on the double hump or other early heads is the lack of accessory bolt holes.
