Default 1980 Camaro fusible link

Is my fusible link 14 gauge or 16 gauge or something else?

Are there any markings on the insulation of the existing link that indicates the wire gauge size? I don't have a 1980 Electrical Diagnosis Manual for the Camaro, but the 1987 Manual page below may give some insight to how check for size and how to repair or replace the link.

As the illustration above states, the fusible link wants to be 4 gauges smaller than the wires you are connecting together. So if the wires in your harness are 12 ga, the link wants to be 16 ga. And to do it right, solder and shrink tube the connections together, don't use crimp connectors.

thanks for the info. I found an old camaro manual that said my links are 16 gauge and I will solder them in.
