1980 Camaro Core Support
I have a 1980 Camaro that I have been working on for the past couple years, and I have to sell it because I am moving across the country. While I had the car, I bought a core support that was in perfect condition. That is the only one of those that I have seen in great condition, and I haven't been able to find a place that sells any reproductions of the 79-81 core support.
Anyways, my questions is should I keep the core support for a future project? I love that style Camaro, and I want to get another one. It seems pretty rare, but I am not for sure. What do you guys think?
Thanks.

I live in Ohio and am moving to Utah. Some of the ones that I have seen rusted at the body mount underneath the battery, so I didn't know how much of a problem that was.
So would I have better luck finding a rust-free core support in Utah?

Yes, you'd have better luck in Utah finding one, but if you don't really need the money I'd keep it until you get another car and see if it needs one or not. Often they don't just rust away, they corrode away from battery acid, so even in the best of climates it can be a problem.

Ah, that's what I was worried about. When I first bought that car, the battery tray was 90% gone and they were using a piece of wood.
Thanks for the advice. Now, all that I have to worry about is getting a good place over there where I can work on it.
