It really depends on alot of things. The main one is Rust. I'd get under that car and get a good look at the frame rails. As a matter of fact, watch this first.

YouTube - Buyers Guide --- Never buy a "Rusty" Camaro or Trans Am again!

If evrything in the ad is true, then it's a decent buy for the price. I see one thing right off in his ad; a TH350 isn't a 4 spd. auto, it's a 3 spd auto. Not aure if he really knows his car too well. Once you get there you can make a closer look at the undercarriage and see how solid it is. Rust is the only issue that might make this a bad buy.
Of course I always offer less than the asking price, so I'd offer him $2,000 no matter how nice it is with a $2500 asking price. All he can do is say no.

Looks like its missing alot. I would ask for receipts for any motor work done. A cheapo slap together isn't worth much to me. Some people will tear an engine down, clean it and put it back together with new bearings and rings. Then call it rebuilt, not in my book.

Oh yeah, there's no E in Camaro.

Or worse yet, not changing the bearings and rings... Since looking into rebuilding my own motor, I've tossed around the idea of trying to do it the cheapest way I could. I've come to the conclusion that this is likely what alot of people do. Cutting corners without even measuring or checking anything. If you determine that the engine is sound, and check everything over that it tells you to in the video I posted, and if most everything is there, especially in decent condition, then it just may be worth it. But I doubt it. But you really have to look it over. Some rust issues are serious problems, that require walking away, or using it as a donor car.
