1978 Camaro 281 miles???
HELP!!!
An older couple that I've been friends with for nearly 25 years have a 1978 Camaro...with 281 miles on it. They bought it in 78, put it away in a garage, start it once a year or so, and kept it on jackstands.
They now want to sell it, to me, but want me to come upm with a fair price...thats where I need help.
The car is a White, Type LT, 305, facotry air, the upgraded red vinyl seats, spoiler, aluminum wheels, automatic, ps/pb/pw/pl.
The paint is perfect, glossy and bright, the chrome, what little was still on a 78 is not pitted or dull. The car was undercoated, so it was drilled an capped on the fenders and the underside still has the yellow undercoating on it. The car smells new inside.
On the bad side, the headliner is dropping, and some of the paint is flaking on the metal parts of the dash.
Otherwise, this car is immaculate. I know the story isnt BS, as I recall seeing the car in the garage in the mid 80's covered; and hadnt seen it since today.
Whats the thing worth, what should I offer, damn this is a tough one...

RE: 1978 Camaro 281 miles???
ive been looking at these cars for awhile, a beater is easily 2000 and lower, so one thats in ok condition id say 3000-4000... but if its in next to virgin condition id say 4500-5000 in my opinion, and trying to keep it cheap on ur end. since theres work to be done here and there but it sounds well taken care of and not beaten on, so id guess the price would go up kuz of that, but since its no cherry 4000-5000 doesnt sound to bad.. atleast from what ive seen.
