Default 1977 Camaro Bumper

Does anyone know if it's possible to switch out my 1977 camaro bumper for a '70-'72? The body lines seem similar. I want to get rid of my ugly metal bumper on the "77.

Nope, you can't do it. You'll either have to learn to love your big bumper or get yourself a 70-73. Sorry.

Actually you can, heres some pics of a 74 with a 73 front end, 80 fender vents and iroc rims. allot is interchangeable in the 2nd gen era.

I've seen a couple of frankenstiens with 70 - 73 bumpers but it's pretty much an entire front clip swap and not just bumpers. People will make fun of you for it since you'd still have the rear lights and the wrap around rear glass.

Something else you might run into is safety laws. The 70 - 73 were exempt from the new laws regulating bumpers that came into effect in 73. That's why the new front and rear ends came around. I doubt anyone will pull you on it but I think it is technically "breaking the law" by removing the reinforced bumpers on a car that is supposed to have it. Not 100% sure though.

^ yeah thats right, you have to take the fenders and everything off of a 70-73 but the car would have to be in really bad shape to do so, because it would be a shame to kill a 70-73 for a BB imo. i dont think you would have to take the front sub frame off though?

That's what I thought when I responded 77. Now I'm not so sure he didn't mean a straight out trade of the front bumper. I'm pretty sure he wasn't talking about any kind of a clip swap, just changing the bumper
