I did some research and here is the only rear pannel that is differnt in the back.

78-81 Complete inner panel. Not visible from outside,

The only issue is that is 100% weld in part. I am sure would need a ton of brakets and little odds and ends. Fenders are differnt and again I think you you would need all the headlight stuff.

I have been researching going the other way. Taking 75-77 back to a 70-73. Of course there is the back window issue but it is doable. This came up cause I saw a 75 with a fresh 454 drive line for sell on Craigs list $1800 and a 72 parts no title parts car that was already striped for $200. 2K for a 73 SS clone, LOL

 

I agree I also bought a 1974 type LT and I love all of it but the BIG UGLY bumpers. 70-73 are still my favorite. But its all personal preference. Its still a CAMARO and that will NEVER change.

i love the aluminum bumpers,they are a quarter inch thick,my first was a 77 and a guy pulled out in front of me while i was doing 55 and if you look at the photo of it it looks like the bumper is still straight even though the frame was bent and the car totaled,it reminds of when they knew how to build things good.i wanted a aluminum bumper model when i went shopping for one and i am getting my 75 ready for summer i hope.to each thier own
