1975 Camaro is it worth it?
I found a 1975 Camaro with no engine/transmission for $400 in Houston (TX).
I found a 305 and a 4 speed automatic transmission in Dallas (4 hours away) for $300 from a 78 Camaro. The engine is dry locked from sitting around (what the guiy says)
I also found 91 chevy 350 for $250 and an transmission from a 1979 Nova vor $175. Both are in Houston. I want a manual tranny but I can't find one cheap enough. I'm broke. Lol. Which combination do you guys think would be more worth it?

if your taking a chance with a used motor go with the 350. as far as it being worth it? you have to ask yourself. will i love my camaro for better or worse ... in sickness and in health ... til death do us part. LOL. it's a camaro of course its worth it. Sick
Thanx. I was thinking about going with the 350 since it's in Houston. My only concern now is towing it home. How hard is it to put it all together? This is all new to me. What all would I need to make this car kick ***... or a least drive?
When getting the engine you have to consider what all it comes with. Is it just the motor? or a complete engine(with the carb, starter, alternator etc...)? If you are getting a complete engine and you just want to get it running for now, all you have to do is bolt in the engine hook up a dozen hoses and wires and turn it on(basically). HOPEFULLY!
Oh don't forget to hook up the radiator, tranny, drive shaft and brakes! haha
I honestly don't know but would a 350 out of a 1991 work in a 2nd gen? Or is there to much computer crap in that new? of a car. I would deffintly go for the 350 though if it will work.

350 FTW.
305s are only good when they are free.
91 350? is it a vortec motor?
you could always just slap a regular carb on it if its throttle body and that does away with any computer stuff.

I just found a 360 big block and C6 transmission from a Ford mid 70's truck for 175. He says it didn't run for more than a few minutes because of a bad rig wiring job. Do you guys think it would be worth it to rewire it or should I just stick with the 350?

LOL, You have any idea what it takes to put a ford engine in a chevy? You would have to make most of the parts from scratch. Motor mounts brackets for the power steering, transmission cross member, all the Shifter stuff Custom headers Custom drive shaft.. OMG Not to mention that motor is way to tall.
