Default 1979 Speedo Cable

My speedometer is bouncing between 20-40km so i decided to remove it and test it. I took it out of the sleeve and it was well lubed and no kinks but it did bounce when I attached a drill. Then I attached the drill to the actual speedo gauge and no bouncing between 20-40 so I assume its the cable. I measured my cable and looked online and no-where does it show a 2nd Gen Camaro having a 71” cable. Can anyone tell me if they heard of a 79 Camaro having a 71” speedo cable?
