Racing motors are for racing. They will not increase the value of the car much. In many cases these "race cars" are worth more in parts. Most guys that race want to build their own motor so they know how it was put together. Also these upgrades are constanly being outdated. The only time a racer with buy a complete car like that is when its selling for pennies on the dollar. Say a car that was built all out in the 80's with a 671 blow whats that worth now? unless its part of drag racing history not much. But a car that was restored to orginal back in the 80, what that worth?

The only 79 Z28 I see selling for 10K is the numbers match all orginal/restored cars. It is really difficult to flip a classic car because the people that are looking at buying them are so pickey. For 79 without matching numbers it be worth 10K the body would need to look flawless, And I mean flawless to a guy that thinks a brand new car looks like junk because of the bad paint job.

You want to make money in the car biz, Find a guy that does trannies on the side. Buy a late model cars that need transmision work. Pull the tranny yourself pay him to rebuild it. A lot of people do not have the 2500 shops charge for transmission over hauls. Its easier to buy a new car the borrow money for repairs. With a little luck you can get the tranny repaired for about a grand. Two weekend of work and you can walk away $1500-2500 profit. Flipping a classic is a long drawn out process you could make your 10K in just a couple of months with way less headaches.
