Default `79 Z28 investment

Okay so i recently bought a 79 Z28 with a whole new engine (under 10,000 miles), almost flawless body but pretty much needs a whole interior renovation. I want to make it so that i could sell it and be able to shoot for the $10,000+ range. I have about $3000 to work with and was wondering what i could possibly do to make this happen? (maybe some upgrades?) Heres some pics:

So, you picked it up to fix & flip? Let me guess...bought it for between $4 and $5k, put another $3k into it (plus elbow grease), and pocket $2-3k. Is that the plan?
To get close to $10k, that car is going to need to be pretty much flawless. Excellent paint, clean and unripped interior, solid floors, and pretty darn nice under the hood. From your pics, I can't tell the true condition of the paint, but I don't see a high shine. Does it need a repaint, or just a buffing out?

possibly new and better paint job.. Its about 6-7 months old and only paid 500. it was gold before, and in some places you could see the factory gold color. And technically speaking i only bought this car for 1500.

You got it dirt cheap, unless there's more that doesn't meet the eye. But to be realistic, putting $3k into it isn't going to make it a $10k car. Since it needs a whole interior redo, you're going to spend a good bundle on that alone, unless by some rare chance you can find a pristine used interior. And it sounds like it needs a good paint job. If some of the old paint is showing already, the $500 black paint job that was put down wasn't done very well.

Hmm.. well it was 1500 because i had traded my 1500 dollar 95 camaro for it. This car alone is worth about 4000. But as far as the mechanics, it needs some engine tuning, it doesnt feel like a true v8.. But u dnt thnk i cud manage to get the interior for under 3000?

In my opinion, it would need all the decals put back on it along with a new paint job. If I were going to pay 10,000 for a second gen, like 69 said it would have to be flawless. Original paint color, original decals, new suspenions parts, bushings, brakes. Excellent interior, engine and drivetrain. You have a good starting point but you are a lot farther that 3,000 from a 10 grand car. You'll spend the 3 grand on the paint and the decals.

Good luck with that but I think you'll be lucky to do better than break even on a late 2nd gen car.

Here's a couple I found locally for sale.

Baddazz big block car for $7500 asking price.

Survivor in nice shape $6000

High dollar at $18995 but less than 8000 original miles!
In this economy it may sit a while at that price.

As it sits, needing a complete interior, probably so. But to get the most for it if you're selling it right away, fix what you can spending more time than money. If you clean up and touch up the engine and compartment, as well as the interior (if at all possible), that will help. Selling a car with a long list of things needing fixing is harder to do compared to one where someone will go "ooooh" when they look under the hood.
