Will N50's fit without rubbing 68 Camaro?
 

Looking at getting some Cragar S/S in 15x10 or Centerlines in 15x9 with Pro Trac N50's like the ones in the link below.
My car sits a little higher so they won't be in the wheel well, but I an concerned about rubbing the inner fender well and want to get the right backspace to make sure they don't rub. Thanks.

Sorry. The Summit link did not work for me so I don't know your tire size, but assuming 275/50/R15 the BS should be circa 4.25-4.5. You need to know the section width and tread width of the tire to be sure... There is a process to measure clearance in your rear fender wells which is involves removing the rim and tire and measuring from the hub face to the inner fender or shock mounts which ever is closer. Tire section width will be impacted by rim width as well. Are your shocks mounted inboard of the frame or still in stock configuration? Is the suspension modified in any way?

My rear suspension is all stock except for traction bars. I believe my car sits high enough that they won't rub, I just want to make sure the backspace isn't off and they don't rub on the inner fender because that's all custom painted and I don't want to ruin it.
I may opt for BFG Radial TA 295/50/15's instead of the N50's because the N50's are bias plys and I'd rather have radials for better drivability.

Best bet is to set the rear end on jack stands so that the suspension is weighted and measure the dimension from the hub face where the wheel attaches to the inner fender well or shock which ever is closer. I used a plumb bob in each location and made a mark on the floor. Once you know that distance you can calculate the BS you need based on the rim width and tire section width which should be the widest point of the tire mounted on the rim. Most tire manufacturers will give you the section width and the rim size used for the measurement. For example, a M/T ET Street Radial at 295/55/R15 is 27.8" tall, and 12" wide in section with a tread width of 10.9". Recommended rim size is 8.0-10.5" wide. The key is that the section width is wider than the rim and depending on vertical tire movement and position it could contact the inner fender. A 10 inch could be tight on a 68 without mini-tubs.. Are you expecting that the tire and wheel will extend beyond the fender well?

One final thing.. Make sure you measure it for each side as they may be slightly different. Mine was about a 1/4" different. I'm planning on putting 9" Weld wheels with a 4.25 BS on mine with a 275/60/R15 ET Street Radial Pro... I am currently running MT ET Street Radials 255/60/R15 (with no issues what so ever) on a 8.5" Centerline Auto Drag wheel with a BS of 4 7/8".. I have a little over 1/2" of clearance to the inner fender well, but my rear end is very stable due to subframe connectors, rear anti sway bar, QA1 shocks positioned inboard of the frame and Competition Engineering slide a link adjustable traction system..

I have 10" American racing wheels on the back and 8" on the front with 4.5" back space
the back , cooper cobra 295-50-15. the front 215-65-15
my car is old school, so the stance is high. I have no clearance issues with either. the tires on the back do stick out beyond the fender about 1.25"

Thanks for that detailed info 68Hou; and Flat Tire, that's the direction I'm going with mine with the wheels/tires sticking out of the wheel well to some degree. Mine won't sit quite that high, prob and inch or two lower, but I love that 70's look. Thanks guys.

That is a very nice car.. and I like the stance. mine is lower as well with the front end down about 2" with tubular upper and lowers and adjustable coil overs.... see attached pic with the 255/60/R15's
