Default questions regarding fiber optics

I always thought these things on my front fenders were just turn signals that the previous owner just put on. Now i hear some Camaros came with them?
They dont really do anything or light up. Is there a website or somewhere where i can figure out how to fix them or get more info?

Lamp Monitoring System Option, RPO U46.
Not many installed or requested. Ebay is about the only place to get parts, expensive, say typ $1500-$2000.

Not many equipped, as in 1,450. Your car would have the fiber optic harnesses and light sockets for the front and rear lights, and a monitor on the rear deck for the rear lights. If you have none of that, then your car likely received used fender transplants sometime in it's life.

The coupe (pic I showed), and convertible had different style monitors, not like yours though. No idea what vehicle that one is for. Is it a factory piece that might have GM part number markings, or is it aftermarket?
