New to me 67 convertible 427
Ok guys. I have purchased a 67 convertible "ss" with a 427. None of it is matching but its a ton of fun to own, wrench on and drive. I am in need of tire advice. Car has 1969 disck brakes.
Current setup: Big block coils, 215/40 17 on 8 inch rims on the fronts. Back Spacing is 4". Rubbing on the outside fender well when the front end bounces. Rare, but annoying.
What I want: 245/40 18 on 8 inch rims. Backspacing would be 4" as well.
help me wrap my head around what I need to do to make these work. I've seen lots of these cars with this wheel/tire package. Atlas Muscle Cars sells them just like I want mine to look like.
Thanks in advance.

ok, 45 views and no response so let me update. I've now decided to consider the springs in the car as a potential problem as I have gotten a diagram of backspacing on what I am running and everyone else running a 245 tire with 4" backspacing on 18 wheels and I know now that the amount of tire in front of the hub is almost the same in both cases. this leads me to believe my car is sitting to low, has to much bounce, or both. New question.
What coil over spring shock system would you recommend for a big block car? Thanks in advance.

well that worked. Now that the picture is up there, and it's the only one I have. If the front end doesn't look to low could my rubbing issues be from weak springs? Bad shocks? I just don't think the front looks lower then some of the other cars on here.

not sure... the pic looks like the stance is a little on the high side... so you might be rubbing due to weak springs/shocks... What type of front end stuff do you have? Is it all stock or do you have aftermarket things (UCAs/LCAs, springs, etc)??
