Default ticking sound under the valve cover

acceleration.Rocker hitting the valve coveror deposits on the valves???? Thanks for the help.

Sounds like a valve is either not working, or just barely. You'll want to pull the valve cover off to inspect.
1) Look for any obvious rocker arm damage, or a possible loosened nut.I oncehad astock steel rocker arm wear so bad thatthe push rod actually launched itselfthrough the arm.
2) By hand, check all the rocker arms to see if any are sloppy. With the coil wire disconnected, tap the engine over a little and check them again, then do it again. If they are sloppy, adjust them.
3) Your cam could havea wiped-outlobe. Whilecranking the engine over with the valve covers off, look at each rocker arm. If you see little or no activity at a rocker, your cam is bad.
4) If after all the above, and you still have the noise, thena bad lifter would be the culprit.
For adjusting the valves, use whatever procedure you're comfortable with. But from past experience/results, I like this procedure better: Valve Lash Adjustment
