I just replaced my hydrolic lifters, to get rid of a load tick, checked all the push rods and adjusted the roller rocker arms. I started the motor and adjusted again. I then started the motor adjusted the timing and it sounded sweet, no more tick. I ran the motor for a few minutes and no tick, then I increased the RPM's and a slight tick started. The tick seems as if it's located inthe middle of the intake manifold and I can only hear it when the RPM's increase, not at idle. Any idea what could be the source???????

I have a 454.

 

exhaust maifold gaskets perhaps

 

check your oil, if ther'e any metal in there itcould be your cam bearings , this is what happened to me and boy did that make my day
