Default remove of upper rear shackle bushing

my restoration of a 67 camaro continues. i am replacing the rear suspension system, including all bushings. the upper rear shackle bushing (the one attached to the frame) is rusted solid in the sleeve. the bolt has been removed. any tips you can give as to how to remove these frozen suckers would be greatly appreciated. i am wanting to stay away from heating them up.

Default RE: remove of upper rear shackle bushing

I cut the lip off with a razor and used a socket the same size and knocked it out with a rubber mallet. I too replaced all my bushings with poly ones. The metal sleeves where stuck in the rear ends of the leaf springs. I used a sawzall to cut a line in them and they came out without any problems. I used to have mono leafs and upgraded to 5 leafs.
