So, I bought a real nice 69 ss 350 man. trans. It has no console and I want one. So I get one from ecklers and it's nice and all. I'm not going to put in the console gauges. So, There is no harness now. But, the kit comes with a lite that I think, goes on the back of the console to provide rear seat lighting. The bulb ,reflector and bracket came with the kit. Now, I need the harness, but don't know which ones to buy. I say ONES, because I think I need the gauge harness and then the harness back to the light, ecklers has that one, but they don't know what else I need?? Typical... Help.. Thanks

 

1st of all calm down, never buy from anyone other that Ricks 1St generation. PERIOD. not year one, not classic ind., not tamaraz, REMEMBER RICKs. Call this # 1-800-359-7717. Beg their forgiveness for ordering from ecklers. theywill be able to help. If its camaro (67-9) they have it and knowhow to install it.

Don't fret...Since you aren't going to install gauges, all you need isthe 2 wire harness that has 1 orange and 1 white wire that runs from the rear courtesy light on the console to a connector in the dash harness, which also has an orange and white wire. This connector should be somewhere by the radio and is seperate from the gauge harness. Unfortunately, I sold a used one on ebay not long ago,and I don't have another.

 

I guess I bought the wrong thing them. I got one from ricks, but there are more than two wires. Still may work. It was only 17 bucks. I have to take it apart anyway. Could not figure out where that seat belt clip and the spring for the storage door went. I found a assembly manual after the fact, and I now see where they go. They sell these things thinking you are replacing a beat up console, so they have no instructions at all..But it's all there in the assembly manual. Thanks..D
