Default 69 RS battery tray replacement

Hello folks,
I am new to the forum as ive just aquired a 69 Ralley sport 350. I am starting to slowly get it in shape and want to replace the badly rusted battery tray. It may seem like a dumb question to yall, but when i went to take out the old tray, there are two bolts in the bottom of the tray that need to come out. I didnt want to tear into it too much and am asking the question of how do i get to the bottom bolts?? do i need to remove anything major to get to them, or is a simple thing that i overlooked? I had to button it all up because of the snow, and I have guides on the way in the mail. Like i said , i'm new to this, and wanted to consult with you guys (the experts) and see what yall come up with. thanx

Nice ride!. Get some more pic's up when you get a chance. Always good to see more 1st gens registering with us.
The stock battery tray had two bolts. One comming up from and threw the radiator support/inner fender well and the other going horizontally into the radiator support.
If the stupid 'dell' scanner/printer still worked I would scan the pic I am looking at from the assembly manual (page 159UPC 12, A8) to show you.

Definately appreciated, I will get some more pics up soon.. The battery tray in this car has two bolts that go into the front of the tray, and two bolts up from the bottom of the tray, and i just can't figure out how to get to them, i'm going to the book store in a few minutes to try and find a manual as well. Thanx for the info .....

You will need the assembly manual. Chiltons won't have that specific of info in it. Best wishes on your search though, you might come across a book that has it.

My thing is trying to figure out how the heck do i get to the bottom bolts without tearing off the fenders? Is there any way to get to the bolts from under the car, or maybe from the front if the grill is removed. I am waiting for the new tray to come in and i want to prep the entire area prior to it getting here as far as sanding and paint. I want to do this car the RIGHT way and I'm a stickler for details when it comes to quality work. It's just that I've never even thought about restoring a car till now, and I want this thing to be perfect...

All 4 bolts can be removed without taking anything but the battery out. The 2 underneath can be seen and accessed with a 9/16 socketrachet and extension. You just need to jack the car up and crawl under it.
