Default Is 69 Camaro an SS

I am interested in a 1969 Camaro and am trying to verify whether or not it is an SS. Below are the numbers. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

VIN # 124379N688488
COWL Information: ST 69 12437 NOR 114859, TR 714, 50 50, PNT, 09D, X11

Partial Vin on engine filed off: Remaining # 107 HB
Rear end # 396934 INF (12 bolt)

Car has both power steering and breaks.

Thanks,
Lance

"HB" is listed in the CRG database as an "SS" code (3 speed automatic tranny), along with HA, HP, and HE. There should be a VIN in the rough casting by the oil filter area. If the VIN has been filed off, then it's unknown whether the engine "belongs" to the car. The last 6-digits of the VIN coincide with the build date on the cowl tag info you listed above. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the information. Do you know if the rear-end in this car was used for both SS and non-SS vehicles in 69?

I would say yes its an SS. it has the X11 as well.

The rear could be ordered for any vehicle, so it might.
