Question 1969 Camaro keeps stalling

Hi guys,

I'm not on here often but need some advice. I have a '69 Camaro with a 350 and auto transmission. The car starts fine and idles fine. When I shift into drive and press the gas it stalls. It will restart and will cruise along at idle but I can't press the gas without it stalling out. I have removed and cleaned the gas tank, installed a new fuel filter, blew out the fuel line, installed a new fuel pump, replaced the ignition coil and took apart and cleaned the Edelbrock 1406 carb. It idles a lot better after all this work but I still can't drie it without stalling. The power brake booster was also replaced within the last year. Any advice?

"Took apart and cleaned the Edelbrock" could have still left the problem behind. If the float level isn't set right (too low: starving out, too high: flooding), or if the accelerator pump is bad, either can cause a stalling issue.

Camaro 69, Can you tell me how to adjust the floats or how to check the accelerator pump? Would these parts be included in a carb rebuild kit? Sorry if these seem like dumb questions but I'm a novice when it comes to this stuff. Thanks.

If the rebuild kit doesn't include the entire accelerator pump assembly, it would at least have the rubber plunger that you would replace your existing one with. How to set float height, etc. would be in the instructions, and the kit gives you a measuring tool.

Thanks for all of the advice. Turns out that the screw holding the distributor loosened and allowed the distributor to rotate. Threw the timing all off. Simple fix if you know what to look for.
