1968 327
Want to convert to 4bbl and want to rebuild.
What is the best stuff to use to get high numbers?
I need low-mid rpm more than high rpm.
Then after all that is said and done what tranny to use?

Well the small block Chevy has more options than about any motor ever built so much depends on your budget, what do you want to spend?
Here's a good start on a budget build.

You starting with the wrong motor. 327 is a great motor but normally it is built with high RPMs in mind. For low and mid range you would want a 350-383-400. I am not saying you can't be happy with a well built 327. Just wanted you to know you are not starting from the best platform.
