i got a nother problem with the traction bars. They donīt fit because they hit the rear shock tower bracket. I have original monoleafs and non staggered shock so they are boht in front of the axle. I tried to install lakewook universal traction bars and i canīt get them to fit, do i send them back and try some other brand?

Did you get the clamp on bars? If so, send those back, they are junk. You want the integrated lower plate type (replaces stock lower plates). Lakewood has them with shock mounts in the front and back.

yep i got the clamp on style ones. Thanks for the info. Do you happen to know the driveshaft bolt torque mount on the rear pinion? I hand tightened them all and just wondering that did i over torque those.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know first hand that traction bars work very well. I had the clamp on ones, and they worked very well after I modified them to fit properly.

I know Camaro 69 doesn't like the clamp on bars, but I personally think they're fine for moderate HP cars like yours. I drove mine on the street daily, and raced every weekend for 3 years, never had a problem. And (no I'm not bragging, just the fact) I almost ALWAYS finished in the money (meaning I was there for the semifinal race or final.) This means I had a LOT of passes down the track.

Did you get the drive line angle fix? 2 deg off will cause a noticeable shaking even at moderate throttle. It been my experience that wheel hop would require and pretty decent load to start happening.

So let say your had a stock 327 with 210hp, that may not go into wheel hop even at WOT but it would shake noticeable at half throttle with 2 deg drive line error. In the GM vibration class we where told that the GM spec is the angles should be within 1 deg but if a customer complains of an on throttle vibration and the error between the front and back are 1 deg, go ahead and dial that down to 1/2 degree. Once you reach 1/2 deg you know the vibration is no drive angle issue.

Another thing you could try is to use a vibration app on your phone and figure out the vibration per minute and see if that matchs drive shaft speed or axle speed but I kind doubt wheel hop would be that rhythmic.

I had one customer that came in because he was told he should get traction bars to fix is under load vibration in his 307 2 barrel. The manual transmission was coming loose from the bell housing.

i think i found the problem, both front leaf eyes were broken, so the leaf spring was able to move around, also my rear frame was badly welded and was broken loose from the rear, so many things was found after search.
