Default Scraping in 2nd (Muncie M20)

In my 68 SS/RS 350, I have the Muncie M20. Unless..... I slowly but firmly shift to 2nd, I get a scrape. Not really terrible, but there none the less. Is this a sign of a sync issue? I tried some adjustments but still the same results. Oh and forget trying to shift it fast....it will scrape every time!

What do you mean by "scrape"? Are you getting a crunch or grind when shifting 1-2?

As said in other forums, I suspect a broken synchronizer, or balking ring.
Pull the trans and fix it is the only fix and if you do one, do all of them and buy a small parts kit to replace the other items so you only go in once.

It is almost like I am being lazy with the clutch and releasing before it is in gear. A guy at one if the local speed shops drive it and suspected sync issues so next weekend it's coming back out again to have it repaired.

Thank you guys for all the remarks/replies.

Thanks buddy, it's coming out next weekend. Did I see your Camaro at the Charlotte Auto Fair yesterday?

Not mine, unless Michael took it there.
