You won't be able to use your stock spindles unless you get them machined down. The top boss needs to be machined down due to clearance issues. The spec I found for this is .610".
I know you said you don't want a kit that replaces the spindles, but you need to take them off anyways and it would be easier just to buy a kit and get new spindles.
If I were you, I'd get a manual disc brake setup, you can use your booster but you'll need a master cylinder for a disc setup.
I got my kit from Matt's Bowtie Classic's and at the time it was under $500.
But if a kit is not available for your setup, by piecing it together and getting the spindles machined, you might end up paying a lot more then it would cost for a kit.

I got my conversion from rightstuff.com . Their Internet sight isn't as good as their catalog or talking to them in person. I wanted to save my 14" wheels on my '67 and got it done very reasonably .

Front conversion for '67-'69 to fit any stock 14" wheel is $375. If you want a drilled, slotted, zinc rotor $425. Both include rotors, calipers, pads, flex hoses, bearings, brackets. Real easy install. No alignment required. I was real happy with it. May want to change your proportioning valve. They carry these and lines also. I changed mine. They have complete kits (valves:brass $75, chrome$100... lines:steel $95, stainless $145) Brake Conversions, Pre-Bent Stainless Lines | Right Stuff Detailing. 800-405-2000
